In 2001, she conquered the 7,161-meter-high Mount Pumori, but she knew that she wanted to reach higher. The Iranian team tacked Mount Everest from its southern side in Nepal using the same route as Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing - the first two people to set foot on the top of the world on 29 May 1953. Concurrent with the 'Woman, Life, Freedom' movement, Farkhondeh declared her support for the protesting people of Iran.
