Honoured as the 'Mother of Iran's Environment' for Her Conservation Efforts

Mahlagha Mallah was an ecofeminist, environmental activist and librarian, who founded the Women's Society Against Environmental Pollution, the first non-governmental environmental organisation in Iran.
She was referred to as the "Mother of Iran's Environment". Mallah won the Personality of the Year award in the "Natural Heritage and Environment" category at the 10th Annual World Citizen Awards in 2017.
Mallah is known for her work to protect Iran's environment, including efforts to combat deforestation, pollution, and climate change.
She has also worked to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Iran's natural heritage and biodiversity.
She has been described as an ecofeminist, since her outlook on environmental issues emphasises that women need to be central in any kind of environmentalism.
