Haydeh Changizian was a celebrated ballerina who was born in Tehran in 1945. She received her ballet education in Tehran and Germany before studying at the Vaganova Choreographic School of the Kirov Ballet in Leningrad.

In 1972, she joined the Iranian National Ballet as its prima ballerina, where she earned acclaim for her virtuosic technique and dramatic interpretations in leading roles.

In 1978, Changizian left the Iranian National Ballet to establish the Niavaran Cultural Dance Company, which aimed to create a ballet repertoire that incorporated Iranian culture, mythology, and literature.

However, the company was terminated due to the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which banned dance performances in the country. Changizian then moved to the United States, where she formed a dance company and presented her first ballet performance, "In Memory of Roudaki Hall ''.

She also worked as a guest artist with the Santa Barbara Ballet and founded the Haydeh Changizian Dance Center and the Anahita Arts and Dance Cultural Center, which aimed to showcase Iranian art and exhibitions by Iranian artists. Throughout her career, Changizian played a significant role in developing ballet in Iran and promoting Iranian culture through dance. Her legacy continues to inspire dancers and artists in Iran and beyond.
